CILA (Canadian Industrial Leadership Award) (Internship - Summer 2021)-
Fact: Did you know that women have accounted for only 30% of employment growth in STEM since 2010 and still make up less than one-quarter of employment in these occupations?
Together, we can increase the presence of women in STEM and redefine Canadian leadership roles. Let’s have some fun and start the conversation – tell us how you see yourself as a #FutureCanadianLeader.
The CILA award includes a fully paid internship, a $6,000 CAD award, and an opportunity for employment after successful completion of the co-op/internship and corresponding degree.
CILA provides more than just financial support. It is a full leadership experience that complements academic and career interests including communications, networks, cyber, advanced manufacturing, electronics and commercial aviation.
CILA offers a collaborative, cross-company interactive experience to participate in networking opportunities and share best practices.
Recipients will work with nine other award winners across three major Canadian high-tech companies to learn more about the aerospace and defence industries! Recipients will participate in cross-company learning activities and will contribute in stimulating and challenging key projects that will meet their academic requirements and encourage their development of leadership qualities.
CILA encourages recipients to be active in key company programs while being mentored by senior company executives. Students will be paired with STEM advisors who are aligned with specific projects that support their education. Collaboration with the University on specific R&D programs will help broaden the education experience.
You will be submerged in Program Leadership with a mentor whilst working with the Engineering Project Management team.
Additionally, you will participate in maintenance support programs on Military aircrafts (CF-18, CT-114 or CC-150) where you will have the opportunity to put in practice your engineering knowledge while evaluating the cause of failures and associated risks. Finding an employer that will assist you in your work permit without knowing you is utopic.. Employers simply do not consider non-resident applications. We strongly recommend that you immigrate to Canada before you start looking for employment.
