Location: Prince George Family YMCA (2020 Massey Drive, Prince George)
Term: Full-Time Temporary
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Start Date: June 29, 2026
End Date: August 21, 2026
Salary: $18.25 per hour
Reports To: Child, Youth & Family Supervisor
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.
Nature & Scope
The Prince George Family Y is a multi-services facility, offering Fitness Services, Health Management Programs, Group Fitness classes, and Child and Youth Programs. We believe in putting people first, with 5-Star YMCA Services, and creating environments that are caring, welcoming and fun
Major Responsibilities**-in this position, you will:**
- CM and Rec staff will be responsible for the care, safety and well-being of multiple children of children ages 3 months to 8 years old
- Build a positive relationship that encourages participant’s growth and development
- Ensuring YMCA experiences are friendly and welcoming
- Attends staff meeting, planning sessions and training events as required
- Other related duties as directed by supervisor
Qualifications**-you bring:**
- Current Emergency First Aid with CPR-C & AED certificate
- Efficient, highly organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker looking to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customer service orientation
- Experience in a recreation centre an asset
- Access to reliable transit or a vehicle
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
- 3 professional references
Canada Summer Jobs Criteria
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International participants are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
