ABOUT THE JOB
We are currently looking for Head Summer Camp Leaders for our various school aged camps between June 29-September 4, 2026. The hours of work will vary according to location placement the location you are placed and camp registration numbers.
ABOUT YOU
You are a team player committed to community. You are courteous and effective with the public and enjoy working with a diverse group of people. You must be able to prepare and lead a wide variety of programs and activities including sports, arts and crafts, games, and neighborhood walks. You are highly enthusiastic and capable of motivating and encouraging others. You should have a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and be able to display leadership skills. You will be responsible for creating detailed lesson plans and camp itineraries, working within a camp budget and making program bookings. In addition, you must be able to work effectively with children, and closely and cooperatively with parents and facility staff, while creating a healthy and safe environment for the campers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to organize and provide leadership for children and youth activities

Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor other camp leaders and volunteers

Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

High Five- Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification

Preferred candidates will be available Monday to Friday for the duration of Summer 2026

Previous volunteer experience working with children/youth considered an asset

Must be available for paid training on June 20th & 21st.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working in a role with children in a variety of settings such as camps, arts and crafts, dance, and sports. Applicants may also be considered for Camp Leader (Playground Leader 1) position.
All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. All candidates must be prepared to work at any of our facilities, indoors and outdoors.
HOURS OF WORK: Shifts may vary from 4 hours per day up to 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, depending on availability and program requirements.
HOURLY RATE: The pay for this unionized position is $26.62 per hour (2024 rates), plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
