Summer School - Secondary Special Education Resource Teacher: Summer school Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT) positions are available from June29 to July 27, 2026 (pending Budget approval). Summer school courses are offered through in-person learning. Summer school SERTs will be applying to one main site, either Thomas A Stewart, Cobourg CI, or Clarington Central SS. The summer school SERT will be responsible for working collaboratively with subject teachers to support individualizing educational programs for any students requiring additional support; individual and small group instruction (may include virtual classroom support) ongoing student need in the areas of learning skills and work habits; student engagement through ongoing communication with students and parents.

Qualifications Required

  • In Good Standing with the Ontario College of Teachers or; Good Standing with Terms, Conditions or Limitations (Transitional Certificate).

  • A police record check, with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database Search dated within 6 months prior to the date of hire, is a requirement for employment.

  • Special Education, Part 1

  • Requirements: Proficiency in virtual learning platforms (Google classroom, D2L), ability to support Math, English and Science courses at the Grade 9 and 10 levels at a minimum, strong communication and organizational skills.
