Opportunity
Conklin Resource Development Advisory Committee (CRDAC) is facilitating its 2026 annual Conklin Métis Culture Camp event at Wassasi Park, located 6 kilometers east of Conklin. The CRDAC is seeking to fill various temporary positions to help us facilitate this years’ camp.
Position Type/Hours
This is a temporary casual labour position working six nights, from August 5 to 10, 2026, maintaining and watching the camp site. This position will report to the CRDAC Portfolio & Events Coordinator. This position is subject to source and tax deductions and will be paid on a scheduled payroll run.
Responsibilities
The Security Officer will ensure the site is secure by patrolling property and monitoring equipment and access points to prevent any losses or damage. Further, the Security Officer will observe and investigate any disturbances, take notes of any unusual occurrences, and report in detail of any incidents. Other tasks delegated to the Security Officer include hauling of water for cooks, taking out garbage, keeping fire up, bringing wood into tents at night, as needed.
Requirements
Proven work experience as security is an asset but not mandatory. Familiarity with dispensing bear spray and other bear deterrence tools. Excellent knowledge in public safety, security and emergency protocols. Must have a valid First Aid Certificate. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain neutral in conflicts and diffuse situations in a professional and mature manner.
Working Conditions
Ability to work long and during night/irregular hours. Ability to deal with emergencies and stressful situations.
