The Recreation department of the Community Engagement and Cultural Services division has an opportunity for qualified individuals to apply for the position of Lifeguard/Swim Instructor at Meadow Park Sports Centre. Reporting to the Aquatics Recreation Programmer, this part-time position offers a schedule of 40 hours bi-weekly during the sport centre operational hours of 6am to 9pm, including evenings and weekends. The Lifeguard/Swim Instructor’s main responsibilities include safety supervision of the pool area; swimming instruction for all ages; administration of first aid for the sports centre; completion of basic maintenance tasks in the pool area; and the delivery of positive sports centre guest service. Lifeguard/Swim Instructors will also assist with opening and closing of the pool facilities. Qualified candidates are fully certified and qualified Lifeguard/Swim Instructors with current NL (pool), Swim For Life Swim Instructor, First Aid, and CPR-C certifications. AMOA, BLS, NLI, Swim Trainer and LSIT qualifications are considered an asset.
