We are currently looking for motivated, hands-on students! As a Paterson Grain Summer Student, you will serve as part of the daily operations and agronomy team at a Paterson Grain location. Reporting to the Location Manager, you will be responsible for assisting and shadowing various staff at the location, with a view to ensuring quality in the handling and delivery of Paterson Grain products and services. Operations Understand and maintain safe and effective handling practices of fertilizer, chemicals, seeds, and other product inventories handled at the location in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines Understand and perform inventory controls by paying attention to detail to inventory records and ticket loadouts with our system during the season daily to weekly. Provide support to the team by making farm deliveries of crop protection, seed and moving inventory between Paterson Grain facilities. Operate equipment such as forklift/pallet jacks in the shed to load or unload to farm trucks and trailers and other equipment on site that is relent to job tasks. Agronomy Independently conduct field scouting activities in varies crops Enter data into record keeping software Collaborate with our site agronomists on crop monitoring (weeds, disease, and insects etc.) Drive on rural roads and long distances Occasionally exposed or required to work in various weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc) Assist with farm fields trials and gain experience and data with new products What You’ll Need Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Ag Business, Agronomy, or related discipline Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work in an environment with changing priorities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn day-to-day business operations Farming/agricultural background would be considered an asset. Valid driver’s license This position is available to students that are still enrolled in school and students that are graduating in 2027 that are looking for a full-time position and would like to earn exposure and experience.
