April 29, 2026 THE RENFREW COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD requires the following SUMMER STUDENT - GROUNDS MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT - FHS TERM: May 11, 2026 to August 28, 2026 (approximate) LOCATIONS: Based at Fellowes High School, Pembroke, ON SCHEDULE: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday DUTIES: Assist grounds maintenance personnel with grass cutting and trimming. Will also be required to assist custodial staff with moving furniture. POSITION SUMMARY: Working under the general supervision of the Facility Services Foreperson or Area Supervisor, candidates will assist personnel with grounds maintenance duties. Applicants should be enthusiastic with a willingness to learn, able to follow both oral and written instructions and able to work well both individually and with others. Safety boots will be required and be the responsibility of the successful candidates. Successful candidates must have a driver's license and their own vehicle for transportation to and from their work location. Students who are required to travel between their main location and other worksites may be eligible to claim mileage according to the Board’s Travel & Expense Reimbursement Procedure. Only students returning to a program of study will be considered. Funding for one or more of these positions may be provided by the Ontario Public Service through the Summer Experience Program. What you’ll do

Assist grounds maintenance personnel with grass cutting and trimming, and help custodial staff with moving furniture. Work under the supervision of the Facility Services Foreperson or Area Supervisor.

Requirements

Candidates should be enthusiastic, willing to learn, and able to follow instructions. A driver's license and personal vehicle for transportation are required, and only students returning to a program of study will be considered.
