This position performs lifeguarding functions and provides instruction in some aquatic programs and skills at the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre as well as minor maintenance. The lifeguard/instructor I must have a minimum of one year experience in an aquatic environment. What You’ll Do Provides lifeguarding duties at aquatic functions. Provides instruction, supervision and ensures safety for swimming and other aquatic programs. Ensure that all necessary equipment is in good working order and ready for immediate or emergency use. In advance, prepare lesson plans and evaluations. Monitors and records pool conditions when necessary. Requirements Requirements: Current National Lifeguard Award (Pool Option). Current Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED. Lifesaving Swim Instructor certification. A minimum of 528 hours lifeguarding and/or swim instruction experience. Compliance with and approval of a Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector. The ideal candidate possesses the capacity to perform all duties in a safe manner while fostering positive relationships with both the public and fellow staff.
